Sound
Animation must not include any music or sound, unless it is user initiated.
Frame Rate
The frame rate for this ad unit may not exceed 18 frames per second. 12 frames per second is preferred.
ClickTAG
All FLASH banners require a clickTAG. For ALL Flash banners a click TAG command on the button layer is required as shown below:

The clickTAG button should be on the topmost layer.
FLASH Version
Yahoo! allows FLASH versions 5, 6 & 7
HTML
-HTML code cannot exceed 3kb .
-2 images maximum. Total file size of images cannot exceed 20k.
-Client-side image maps are acceptable and must be provided by the client
-Form tags in HTML code must use "get" in the method.
-CGIs referenced in the HTML code must be active at the time of ad submission, for validating/testing the ad HTML code, and be able to handle the traffic load.
-Ads with CGIs, which are not active and/or cannot handle the projected traffic will not be accepted.
Form Based Banners
-All form based banners have to be submitted with 3 JS files, images folder and 1 html file. 3 JS files :
- body
- validation
- style
Mandatory to use the “GET” method of data collection.
MUST HAVES :
-a privacy policy hyperlink
-disclaimer : (client name) collects the information within this ad and is solely responsible for their use of it. Yahoo! does not collect or use this information in any way.
-The disclaimer has to be displayed on the banner and not as a hyperlink.
Form Based Banners (for dot com)
- All form based banners have to be submitted with 1 JS file (body), images folder and 1 html file
- Mandatory to use the "GET" method of data collection.
MUST HAVES :
- a privacy policy hyperlink
- disclaimer: (client name) collects the information within this ad and is solely responsible for their use of it. Yahoo! does not collect or use this information in any way.
- The disclaimer has to be displayed on the banner and not as a hyperlink.
- Ads that collect personal identification info need to be sent to US Privacy-Policy team for their review and approval. Please note that this may require some time – min 2 working days.
- There should be more than 1 redirect in html file.
  • Form redirector (data leads).
  • Terms and Conditions.
  • Privacy Policy.
Mirror these 3 RDs in on to the html file with different "var rd*"
- Please provide the URL of landing page and Privacy-Policy
- Please provide the back-up image file for any flash animation in the banner.
- Any Flash in the creative should not loop and should end the animation in 15 seconds.
- Age validation on the form needs to have a drop down option which says "14 and above"...US regulations restricts data collection from users below 14.
- When asking for credit card information provide options such as Yes or NO- e.g. two checkboxes for Yes, I have a credit card and No, I don’t have a credit card

Note :
The creative will be sent to US Privacy-Policy team for their review and approval.
Submission Guidelines
 
Ads must conform to specifications outlined herein. Elements not meeting specifications will be returned for revision, which may delay the launch date.
Creatives submission must include the following:
  1) Yahoo! Insertion Order number
 
2) Creatives/Banners
i. No spaces in between the banner title name. If required, use '_' (underscore) and not '-' (hyphen). Use only small letters instead of caps.
ii. FLASH banners must have the same title names as their GIF/JPEG backup files. Banner title names are not to be repeated.
iii. Example: yahoo_440x160_19mar04.swf /
yahoo_440x160_19mar04.gif
iv. Black border needs to be added on all the banner creatives - gif and swf
  3) Linking URL: Site must be live before campaign starts. It must be domain name based and cannot be an IP address (i.e., http://207.123.456.78 )
  4) 3rd party tags (if applicable): Tags must be live at the time of submission to enable thorough testing before launch.
Creatives Material Deadline for India:-
 
- Standard (non-rich media - GIF/JPG and FLASH) are
  2 working days prior to start date
- Dhtml and Rich media is 4 working days prior to start
  date
- Front Page ads are min 4 working days prior to start
  date
- Ads to be published on yahoo.com are min 5 working
  days prior to start date.
- Banner ads leading to content/ promotion/ data
  collection pages on Yahoo! or client server need to be
  reviewed by the legal team, hence require a 4
  working days lead time prior to start date.
- Please submit creatives before 4.00 p.m.
